Data Users Group

This group is made up of key users of further education data. Organisations invited include the Skills Funding Agency, EFA, BIS, DfE, DWP, Connexions, HEFCE and Ofsted.

At the Data Users Group meeting on 27 February attendees discussed the following:

• The government’s open data agenda which aims to make information more easily accessible to government agencies and the general public. A working group is due to shortly report its proposals on the way forward to achieve this objective
• Recent developments in the Course Directory that has resulted in data quality improvement
• The Data Collection and Funding Transformation project developments that will require training providers to use the Windows 7 or Windows 8 platforms rather than Windows XP
• The numbers of awarding organisations inputting achievement data on Personal Learning Records and the fact that the Skills Funding Agency has required awarding organisations to commit to uploading results as a condition of recognition.
