Adult Safeguarded Learning Group
This group is for representatives from Adult Safeguarded Learning providers who are responsible for preparing and sendiing ASL ILR returns.
Meeting outputs
At the ASL Group meeting on 22 February, the group received updates on:
- The Learning Revolution and recording of informal learning - the LSC informed the group that there are plans to collect details of informal learning. This will be further scoped with the information authority and the Data Service.
- The Learning Aims Database (LAD) development project - the LAD is being redeveloped and stakeholders were asked to contribute to the process to ensure the new database takes account of their issues.
- Managing Information Across Partners (MIAP) services - the presentation delivered to the group provided an overview of the services and outlined the advantages to ASL providers. Attendees were keen to highlight that providers cannot take responsibility to updating changes to learner details.
- Electronic Records Project - the LSC outlined the proposed criteria for providers wanted to move to electronic records.
- Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) changes to funding, planning and performance - the presentation delivered included details of proposed deliverables and the LSC asked for early involvement to ensure the final products meet the needs of providers.
- ILR change process of 2011/12 - this included an update on the differences between the 2010/11 and 2011/12 change processes, the details of a review group meeting to review change requests and a stakeholder consultation workshop to be held on 15 July 2010.
Attendees also discussed particular ILR queries, and asked if and when a priority qualifications database would be made available, and considered the advantages of introducing hard closes for ASL returns.
