Timetable for developing and publishing the 2011/12 ILR Specification

February 2010

Communicate change process

Communicate the timetable, process and criteria to the FE system. Work with stakeholders to identify any new or changed mangement information needs that would require a change to the ILR.

February to June 2010

Engagement with stakeholders to discuss possible future data needs

Meet with funding organisations, government departments and any other stakeholders that are likely to request changes. The secretariat will work with the change requesters to help scope requests and advise on what will be needed for the change to progress.

18 June 2010

Closing date for requests for change to the 2011/12 ILR Specification

Final date for submission of change requests. Please note: if change requests are not discussed with the secretariat prior to this deadline, there is a risk that the request may be rejected if not adequately outlined.

July to August 2010

Consult with stakeholders on possible changes

Meet with stakeholders. Discuss changes requested and options developed with stakeholders. Consultation will take place via feconnect, meetings and other communication channels.

7 July 2010

Review Group meeting

A review group consisting of representatives from the information authority, the Data Service, data users and learning providers will hear an overview of all ILR change requests that have met the criteria. Representatives from organisations requesting changes will be expected to present at this event and so should ensure that they are available on this date.

15 July 2010

ILR change consultation event

Representatives from the information authority's advisory groups will be invited to a meeting to comment on the proposed changes. 

31 August 2010

Consultation closes

Final date by which comments on the proposed changes must be received. Work on the recommendations paper to go to the information authority board will start. 

17 September 2010

Recommendation paper goes to the information authority board members

The secretariat's recommendations will be sent to the board members in advance of the board meeting. Board members will be asked to flag up queries or recommendations that they disagree with in advance of the meeting. This will enable change requesters to prepare a response before the board meets. 

29 September 2010

The information authority board meeting

The information authority board approves/ declines changes based on what it decides is best for the FE system as a whole. 

October 2010

Key outcomes from the board meeting are published

A summary of approved/ declined changes will be published. 

26 November 2010

Publish 2011/12 ILR Specification

The Specification is published so that stakeholders have ample time to make changes to their systems and business processes. 

28 January 2011

Publish 2011/12 ILR Validation Rules

The Validation Rules are published for use by stakeholders. Where possible, validation rules will be included in the ILR Specification published on 26 November 2010. 

March 2011

Publish provider support manuals

Publish support manuals on website for use by providers

August 2011

2011/12 ILR Specification in use.
