Harmonising Success Rates - Progress
Work progressed by the Data Harmonisation Group
- The LSC and Ofsted worked together to align their data collection processes and agree specifications for 'freezing' data. This is ensured that published FE success rates and those used for inspection were the same.
- Working with Sector Skills Councils and other representative bodies, the LSC and Ofsted agreed a standard method for mapping Apprenticeship success rates onto the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) Sector Subject Areas at Tier 1 and Tier 2. This was to resolve the confusion amongst providers, and eradicate conflicting messages about performance based on the different approaches used by the LSC and Ofsted.
- Worked with BIS and the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) to align timely success rates for all work-based learning.
- Earlier publication of the success rate methodologies - for the latest versions of ER and LR QSR methodologies and supporting documents, please see the Data Service website:
Further information about success rates and the work of the group is available on the information authority's recent news pages.
Other work includes:
Success rate methodologies for School Sixth Forms, FE in HE institutions, Qualification Credit Frameworks and employment outcome focused provision.
