New information authority chairman appointed

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has officially announced the appointment of
the information authority board’s new chairman.
Geoff Hall, Principal and Chief Executive of New College Nottingham, has recently accepted the position and is preparing to chair his first board meeting at the end of this month.
Geoff has worked at New College Nottingham since 2002. Prior to this he was a national director at the LSC and FEFC where his responsibilities included funding and data. Before that he was Director of Education in Bexley London Borough. Geoff has also written a number of publications about leading change in the FE sector. He is due to retire from his full-time post at NCN in July 2011.
Head of
the information authority, John Perks, says: “This is a very exciting time for us. We are looking forward to hearing more about Geoff’s vision regarding the authority’s future direction and focus.”
The previous
information authority Chairman, Graham Jones, led the organisation since its formation in 2006 and retired at the end of 2010.
