information authority Response to Raising Expectations
The information authority board has responded to the consultation document ‘Raising Expectations: enabling the system to deliver’. The DCSF / DIUS proposals include the set up of the Young People’s Learning Agency and the Skills Funding Agency, and new responsibilities for local authorities for education and training of 16 -18 year olds.
In considering the proposals, the information authority examined them from the perspective of:
- potential increases in data bureaucracy in the FE system
- the need for common standards in information (and related processes) to ensure efficiency
- implications for the operation of the information authority itself
