The information authority board is meeting on the 28 January to consider essential changes to the 2011/12 Individualised Learner Record (ILR).
At its meeting in December 2010 the board agreed that it would consider exceptional change requests from the funding agencies, which support the implementation of new or revised policies announced in recent publications such as the Skills Investment Strategy.
Seven change requests were received in total. After applying our assessment criteria to each of these, four were taken forward for consultation with the sector and consideration by the board. These are:
- Change request 39 – Identify LLDD in specialist placements
- Change request 40 – Employment status – identify learner on benefits
- Change request 42 – Foundation learning fee remission
- Change request 43 – SME offer for workplace delivery
The board will also be considering a proposal to introduce the new Census standard codes for recording ethnicity. The expectation is that schools and higher education will also adopt the 2011 Census ethnicity codes, so there will be a synchronised approach across the education sector.
If necessary, we will publish a revised 2011/12 ILR Specification by the end of February 2011.
