Welcome to the information authority

The information authority was set up in October 2006 to set data standards and govern data collection and use for further education and training provision in England.

The authority's decision-making board is headed by an independent chairman and has a wide range of members with an interest in FE data. The board is supported by a small operational secretariat. We are funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
